From late August 2011, we’ll be making changes relating to postage options to help reduce unnecessary buyer questions and increase international visibility.
Firstly, you will be able to add tracking information to orders which will then be emailed to your buyers, keeping them informed on the progress of their purchase.
Additionally, by specifying postage costs for the US, Canada and Australia, you may appear in the standard search results of those countries’ eBay sites, helping to reach millions more international customers.
The most common question buyers ask is 'Where's my item?' Providing buyers with tracking details can help to reduce questions and improve detailed seller ratings (DSRs).
From late August 2011, you will be able to enter the tracking number and carrier information using My eBay, Selling Manager, Selling Manager Pro, File Exchange or through the API.
If your delivery service doesn't offer tracking or delivery confirmation, we strongly recommend you mark the item as dispatched in My eBay once you’ve sent it.
A 'sent' icon appears in the buyer's My eBay and the buyer will be notified by email if tracking details are added or the item is marked as dispatched.
