Remove watermarks from images

We’ve updated our picture policy to help create a clearer shopping experience for buyers.

What do you need to know?

  • From 1 March 2018, watermarks will no longer be allowed on pictures.
  • We'll monitor pictures for watermarks and notify you when we identify images that don't comply with our updated picture policy.
  • From 1 March 2018, sellers who continue to include watermarks in images will have their listings removed from search.

Helping to create a consistent shopping experience

Clear images with a plain, white background help create an intuitive browsing experience for shoppers. Along with accurate product information, competitive pricing, delivery and returns policies, professional product photos make your listings stand out. They also allow us to promote your listings on search engines such as Google or Bing.

To make it easier for buyers to see what they’re buying and align with industry best practice, we’ve updated our picture policy. From 1 March 2018, watermarks will no longer be allowed on pictures.

Removing watermarks can take time so we’re giving you time to get ready.

You have until early 2018 to remove watermarks from your pictures and recommend that you review your images as soon as possible.
