Seller Hub marketing tool updates

  • To help you manage your marketing on eBay, we’re making updates to Seller Hub Promotions which will allow you to create unique coded coupons for your customers.
  • In order to preserve the quality of offers that buyers see we also have a new approach to offers that will prioritise the most relevant promotions.

Listing against the eBay catalogue

  • eBay.co.uk: As a reminder, matching listings with products in eBay’s catalogue will be required for 12 categories starting this September 2018. We also plan to expand this requirement to 22 more categories in early 2019.
  • eBay.de: As a reminder, matching listings with products in the eBay catalogue will be required for a select number of product lines starting on 15 August 2018.

Improvements to our after-sales processes

  • eBay.co.uk, eBay.de, eBay.fr, eBay.it, eBay.es: We’re providing you with more visibility into “Item not as described” and “Item not received” requests in the form of a dashboard on Seller Hub.
  • eBay.co.uk: For the small number of sellers with a very high “Item not as described” rating compared to similar sellers in the same category, you will incur a 4% final value fee surcharge.
  • eBay.co.uk: After 26 September 2018, you’ll be required to upload tracking information onto the site within the estimated delivery date, in order for eBay to protect you against “Item not received” claims.
  • eBay.de: In 2019, we’ll require you to upload tracking information in order for eBay to protect you against claims.
  • eBay.de: As of October 2018, the number of days that you’ll have to respond to and accept a return request or “Item not received” request is changing from 10 calendar days to 3 business days.

Non-secure HTTP content blocks

Security and data protection is a key priority at eBay, and for the past year we've been working with you to comply with Google's HTTPS requirements. In late January 2019, we'll start blocking new listings that contain non-secure content to make sure we're up to date with the latest security requirements.

Duplicate listing policy reminder

We’d like to remind you that having or creating duplicate listings is against our policies, as it negatively impacts the shopping experience on eBay. From July 2018, sellers with duplicate listings have started to see a loss in visibility for their inventory.
